It seems the South Korean based automaker has some big plans for the next Genesis Coupe!
Hyundai genesis coupe of next generation is rumored to be equipped with 5.0l v8. The upcoming Hyundai Genesis models will be significantly updated as to have a 5.0 liter V8 engine under the hood! In this case this model of Hyundai Genesis V8 will sit above the four-cylinder turbocharged and the V6 models. Imagine, how much more powerful they will be!
That version of the car would be mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission sending power to the rear wheels.
It also has been announced that the new concept car will be slightly bigger and become a premium class model. The design was inspired by the Hyundai Luxury Sports Coupe HND-9 Concept car, which was presented at the Seoul Motor Show, back in 2013. The one-off vehicle had the Fluidic Sculpture design with butterfly doors, hexagonal front grille, elongated hood, dual exhaust on both sides and 22-inch alloy wheels. However, the up-swept rear end and elegant roofline are expected to live on in series production, the butterfly doors will be dislodged in favor of more traditional ones. The futuristic prototype was described as “a modern interpretation of a classic premium sports coupe”.
Sadly, the new Genesis Coupe generation isn't to be expected till 2016.
